The Pretty Sins Story
Chapter 1 – Where It All Began
On February 4th, 1982 — Rosa Parks’ birthday — in the city of Leicester,
Charlene came into the world: a joyful, creative little girl who loved to laugh and explore.
Three years later, in 1985, her sister Serene arrived — and everything changed!
Charlene wasn’t sure about sharing at first, but soon learned that having a little sister meant having a forever friend, a partner in imagination, and a partner in mischief.
Chapter 2 – Sisters and Sparkle
As the years went by, Charlene and Serene became best friends.
They spent hours playing with Troll dolls, collecting Pogs, and giggling through bath time.
They were curious, bold, and a little cheeky — borrowing their mum’s and grandma’s makeup to practice on each other.
Even when they argued (as sisters do), they always had each other’s back.
Growing up taught them that life takes hard work — and money doesn’t grow on trees! They both got jobs, but deep down, they felt something was missing.
They wanted to create something of their own… something that meant more.
Chapter 3 – A Spark Becomes a Vision
In 2007, Charlene started buying and selling makeup.
The small idea quickly began to grow, and before long, she convinced Serene to join her.
Together, they worked days and nights — selling beauty brands, reinvesting every penny, and learning the ropes of running a business.
They even set up a stall at Leicester Market and sold at Beaumont Leys Market car boot sales.
It was tough work, but they loved every minute. It was their first taste of real hustle and heart.
Chapter 4 – Taking the Leap
As life evolved, they moved their business online — a big step forward that took time, patience, and faith.
They were proud of what they’d achieved, but they still felt there was something more to come.
Then one night, Charlene had a dream — a dream that would change everything.
Chapter 5 – Charlene’s Dream
Charlene dreamed of creating a makeup brand with meaning — one that made people feel strong, confident, and beautiful inside and out.
A brand that reminded everyone to “fix each other’s crowns” and celebrate individuality.
Charlene’s creativity flowed endlessly — she’d jot down ideas late at night in her red dressing gown, sketching palettes and packaging that reflected her spirit and heart.
She wanted to build something powerful — and soon, her dream began to take shape.
Chapter 6 – The Birth of Pretty Sins
In 2018, after a few bumps in the road and lessons learned, Charlene and Serene decided to rebrand.
They partnered with the talented designer Natalie, shared their vision, and together brought it to life.
And just like that — Pretty Sins was born.
They launched a new website, opened their own shop, and poured their energy into creating products that made people feel amazing.
Chapter 7 – Dreams Turn Into Purpose
Pretty Sins products were handcrafted with love, late nights, and endless dedication.
Every formula, every shimmer, every colour had a story behind it — created to uplift and empower the people who wore it.
Their journey proved that passion, family, and faith can turn dreams into reality.
Chapter 8 – Serene’s Dream
But Serene had a vision of her own.
She imagined herself in a white lab coat, teaching others how to create their own makeup — helping them discover the science, creativity, and joy behind cosmetics.
Serene loved experimenting, blending, and learning about ingredients. She wanted to make beauty education fun and inspiring — so that everyone could understand what goes into their favourite products.
With Charlene by her side, they turned that dream into something new…
Pretty Sins Laboratory was born — a place where creativity meets science, and where learning feels like magic.
Chapter 9 – The Story Continues
Today, Charlene and Serene continue to dream big.
Pretty Sins is more than a makeup brand — it’s a celebration of individuality, creativity, and confidence.
From selling makeup at local markets to formulating their own products and teaching others to do the same, their story is one of sisterhood, strength, and sparkle.
